Greenopolis.com allows members to connect with others who care about the environment and enables them to learn, act and earn rewards for making a positive impact on the environment. Its features include MyOpolis, an interactive social network where members can create profiles, build networks and create blogs; Groups, which offer online tools for community action groups; and GreenMedia, a broadcast system that gives users up-to-the-minute news stories, articles, thought-leadership, and published data through an RSS feed for Greenopolis.com members. Waste Management Inc. also launched ThinkGreenFromHome.com, a streamlined online service for the recycling of universal household waste including compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and batteries. This new Web site offers kamaaina convenient mail-in solutions to safely store and recycle heavy metal containing household devices, as well as resources to encourage household sustainability. This service is a convenient way for kamaaina to “think green” and do their part to reduce the opala entering our landfills.
