Aloha Friends,

As our keiki return to school this fall, it also marks the beginning of a new season here at Waste Management of Hawaii and we are busier than ever as we roll out several new initiatives to help kamaaina “think green.”

We were proud to once again be a platinum sponsor for Scenic Hawaii’s 2008 Betty Crocker Landscape Awards that honors those who strive to keep Hawaii green and beautiful. We are always honored to help such deserving local organizations that are dedicated to making our islands a better place to live.

Our parent company, Waste Management, Inc., recently launched two new Web sites that will serve as tools to thinking green and making a difference in taking care of our aina – Greenopolis.com and ThinkGreenFromHome.com. Read on to find out more.

Finally, we’d like to introduce to Mike Kaha. Originally from Waianae, Oahu, Mike now serves as site manager at our West Hawaii landfill on the Big Island.
